My Credentials and Experience
I am a Licensed Clinical Social Worker with a Master’s Degree in Clinical Social Work from the University of Central Florida. In addition, I hold certifications as a Master Certified Addiction Professional, Certified Anger Management Treatment Specialist, and Qualified Supervisor with the state of Florida.
With over 10 years of experience in the service field, I’ve had the opportunity to work in a variety of roles, including clinical director, senior substance abuse counselor, psychotherapist, and adjunct college instructor. My career has taken me through correctional institutions, nonprofit organizations, private group practice, and my local college. Currently, I’m proud to serve America’s Veterans and their families with the United States Department of Veterans Affairs.
My Thoughts About Therapy
I believe that your perspective plays a crucial role in shaping your confidence and your ability to embrace personal change. True transformation doesn’t come from assigning blame, but from assuming responsibility. It requires the willingness to make difficult decisions and the courage to confront what you may have been avoiding. When the storms of life hit, and confusion clouds your path like a dense fog, steering your life back on course can feel like an overwhelming task.
I want to be there with you as you navigate that challenge. My mission is to walk alongside you with grace, compassion, and hope—empowering you to take the courageous step toward change, embrace the pain of healing, and believe in the possibility of transformation and a renewed sense of purpose.
Therapy can be an incredibly rewarding experience, offering new insights and the possibility for real change. But let’s be honest—it can also be tough and at times, it can suck. Making lasting changes in your life is never easy, and it gets harder the longer you’ve been stuck in the same patterns. I believe that you already have the answers within you; sometimes, they just get lost in the fog. My role is to help you clear that fog so you can see the path forward more clearly.
Me and My Family
As a believer in and follower of Jesus Christ, I have experienced firsthand the healing power found in His presence. No struggle or pain is beyond His reach, and through life’s challenges, I’ve learned that true hope and healing come from drawing near to the One who created you, loves you, and relentlessly pursues you. The course corrections I’ve made in my own life have been many, but with each step, I am deeply grateful to Him and to those who have walked alongside me in this journey. His grace has been a constant source of strength and transformation.
I am truly blessed to be married to an amazing, God-loving woman named Sarah, who has been my biggest fan and supporter for many years—and can certainly attest to the many course corrections she’s graciously offered me along the way! I also have the honor of being a Bonus Dad to my daughter, Launa, who is a true joy and treasure in my life. Together, our little family is always looking for ways to be a blessing to others and make a positive impact on those around us.
