Addiction and Substance Use

Substance use can begin as a way to cope, connect, sleep, escape, or manage pain—and gradually create consequences of its own. Counseling offers a non-shaming place to understand the pattern and decide what change you are ready to pursue.

We may explore motivation, triggers, cravings, consequences, relapse patterns, relationships, recovery supports, and co-occurring emotional concerns. The appropriate level of care matters; outpatient therapy is not a substitute for detoxification, medical care, or a higher level of treatment when those are needed.
