Course Correction Counseling
A large ship cannot complete a 180-degree turn instantly. It changes direction gradually, through steady adjustments made over time. Personal change often works the same way. Transformation isn’t about tackling everything all at once or fixing everything tomorrow. It’s about the small, consistent shifts you make today. Each small shift may seem minor in the moment, but over time, those shifts build momentum. So don’t get discouraged by the size of the journey. Focus on the changes you can make now, and trust that they will lead to something bigger, better and greater.
You may not be able to fix everything today, but you can identify the next useful adjustment. Small changes in how you think, communicate, cope, set boundaries, or respond to conflict can build momentum. With time, patience, and consistent practice, those changes can lead somewhere meaningfully different.
The First Shift
The first shift is often the smallest and the hardest: acknowledging that something needs to change. From there, therapy can help you clarify the destination, identify the obstacles, and begin making deliberate course corrections.
A Note About the Therapy Process
Therapy is not a passive experience. Sessions offer space for insight, skill building, practice, and honest reflection. Progress also depends on what happens between sessions: the conversations you approach differently, the boundaries you practice, the habits you build, and the choices you make.
The length of therapy varies according to your goals, the complexity of your concerns, your circumstances, and your progress. We will review the plan together and discuss when it is appropriate to reduce frequency, pause, or conclude services. The goal is not dependence on therapy; it is greater confidence in your ability to use what you have learned.
