Clinical Supervision
Looking for Supervision? Let’s Work Together to Grow Your Clinical Skills
As a Registered Clinical Social Worker Intern (RCSWI) in Florida, you’re embarking on an exciting journey toward becoming a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW). You know that this next phase is critical to your professional development, and finding the right supervisor can make all the difference, believe me, I know. I’m here to offer you the support, guidance, and mentorship you need to navigate this process and grow as a clinician. Here’s what you can expect from clinical supervision and why it’s essential to your journey:
What Clinical Supervision Looks Like for RCSWIs in Florida
Clinical supervision is more than just a requirement—it’s an opportunity for you to develop the skills and competencies needed to become an effective, ethical, and compassionate psychotherapist. With my guidance, we’ll work together to make the most out of your supervision hours, focusing on the areas that matter most for your growth as a clinician and as a person.
Qualifications of Supervisors:
In Florida, clinical supervision must come from a licensed clinical social worker (LCSW) who meets state requirements. I’ve been licensed for over 10 years and have experience in a wide range of clinical settings. I’ve managed a clinical staff, therapists, case managers, peer support specialist and an addictions professional. I’ve also served as site supervisor for a student at Stetson University in Florida. You can feel confident knowing that I’ve not only completed the necessary post-licensure training, but also specialize in the areas you’re working to master. My goal is to guide you toward your licensing goals while fostering a deeper understanding of social work practice both in theory and in the real world.
What We’ll Focus on in Supervision:
Our supervision sessions will cover a variety of competencies necessary for successful social work practice. These include:
- Assessment & Diagnosis: We’ll work on improving your ability to assess and diagnose clients accurately.
- Treatment Planning & Interventions: You’ll gain hands-on experience creating treatment plans and implementing interventions tailored to client needs.
- Case Management: I’ll help you refine your case management skills, balancing client needs with available resources.
- Cultural Competency: We’ll explore how cultural factors influence your practice, and I’ll support you in developing more inclusive, respectful approaches to working with diverse populations.
- Ethical and Legal Standards: We’ll dive into the ethical and legal responsibilities that come with social work, including confidentiality, informed consent, boundary setting, and legal compliance.
- And more
Navigating Ethical and Legal Challenges:
Social work often presents ethical dilemmas, and I’m here to help you navigate these challenges. From managing dual relationships to ensuring you’re staying compliant with both state and federal regulations, I’ll provide the support you need to make ethical decisions confidently.
Developing Your Professional Identity:
Supervision isn’t just about learning the technical aspects of social work and how to be a skilled clinician. It’s about your professional and personal growth as well. We’ll focus on building your self-awareness, enhancing your reflective practice, and setting professional goals for your continued development. I’ll help you identify areas where you can improve and help you focus on skills you want to enhance.
Case Consultation, Problem-Solving and Scenario Based Training:
Each session will offer a safe space for discussing challenging cases. We’ll talk through your assessments, treatment plans, and interventions, and I’ll offer feedback and suggestions for improvement. Whether it’s a case that’s particularly challenging or a decision you’re unsure about, I’ll be here to support your clinical decision-making process. Additionally, you will work through real world scenarios and answer many questions as to what you would do, when, where and why, your confidence, skills and thought process will be tested, with a little bit of pressure all designed to make you the best you can be.
Building a Strong Supervisory Relationship:
The relationship between a supervisor and intern is a critical part of your learning experience. I believe in fostering a space where you feel comfortable exploring your strengths and vulnerabilities as a clinician. You can trust that our conversations will be open, collaborative, and focused on your growth.
Why Choose Me as Your Supervisor?

With my guidance, you’ll gain more than just experience—you’ll develop confidence in your skills, clarity in your decision-making, and a deep sense of purpose in your work. I believe in supportive and reflective supervision that meets you where you are, provides real-time feedback, and challenges you to grow while respecting your individual path. Regardless of your decision, I’ll tell you what I tell all my clients, I don’t care where you get the help, as long as you get the help you need to succeed!
